President’s Message

It has been lovely getting to know many of you better during my first year.  I am always amazed by how everything just gets done as there are so many helping hands.

This club is a true example of how having fun can be contagious.  Garden therapy, junior gardeners, garden maintenance at the Light Keeper’s, Historical Society and Constitution Park and new challenges such as the John Smith Memorial or the Veterans Square downtown have seen the efforts of a few or many.  We are bringing a message of taking joy in the natural world around us.

This year we tackle the enormous task of the Holiday House Tour.  The team is well underway planning for it and counts on all of us to make it the best of successes.  This is our big fundraiser that allows us to give back to the community in years to come.

Please continue to plant nectar rich trees, shrubs and perennials for all our pollinators.  Remember to allow for caterpillars and bugs as they are the food for generations of birds to come.  We can stem the loss of habitat by planting more, mowing less, and sharing the land with all living things.

Keep having fun!
